School Program Report




Christmas Celebration Report (21.12.2024)

Christmas Celebration Program began around 9.30 am. in our school. The Chief guest for the program was Rev. Fr. Edward Michael SDB, Principal, St. Bede’s Academy (CBSE). The Program began with the Bible Reading, following by the Prayer Song. Mrs. Chrysanthi welcomed the gathering. Mrs. Helen was the master of ceremony for the program.

Our Rector & Correspondent delivered his Christmas Message. The Chief guest was felicitated with a photo of Jesus and a plant. All the other guests were felicitated with a plant. The girls of STD-III performed the Welcome dance. The teachers sang a medley and our Principal played the guitar. The teachers finally wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

The story of the Birth of Jesus was staged by the students of std-III. The children boys were dressed as Christmas trees, girls as holies. They staged a dance. Our Chief guest Rev. Fr. Edward delivered his Christmas message and wished everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous New Year. Our students shared a few items with the needy. The items (Provisions) were placed by the students in front of the crib.

The Prizes for the craft competition were distributed to the winners. Our Chief guest Rev. Fr. Edward and our Principal rev. Fr. Dominic Presented the Prizes to the Children. The winners were from LKG to STD-V. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by Mrs. Anita. The Christmas celebration came to an end with our school choir singing the ‘School Anthem’.



Special Mass for the Departed Souls (25.11.2024)

Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Mathews served Holy Mass in our school. Rev Fr. Dominic was the celebrant. November being the month for the Departed Souls, a special mass was organised for all the staff and the students.

Mrs. Anita read out the mass introduction. The names of all the departed souls of all the teaching and non-teaching staff family member was read out by Mrs. Sabrina. Mrs. Rani read the 1st Reading.

Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews in his sermon asked all the children to close their eyes and join their hands. Father made all the children say 'Thank you God for the gift of life'. This has to be said in the morning and at night. Rev. Fr. Dominic also asked the children to repeat what the Rector told them in his message.

Morning Talk - Rev. Fr. Tharsius SDB - Flag Hoisting (18.11.2024)

Message: Rev. Fr. Tharsius hoisted the National Flag. He told the children that God has given all of us talents and freedom to do and learn things. Father said a story about a 'King and a Hunter'.

Fr. Tharsius presented the awards for 'punctuality' to 3 classes.

Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews presented the awards to the winners of the English Elocution competition.

Father also presented the awards for the Thirukkural competition and Children's Day Competition - Quiz for STD-III, IV, V, drawing competition for STD- I to V, Games for class I - V, Punctuality & Consolation Prizes.




Singing Competition (16.11.2024)

The Singing competition began at 9.30 am. Mrs. Helen sang the ‘Prayer Song’ and delivered the ‘Welcome Address’. Mrs. Asalita informed the children the rules for the ‘Singing Competition’. The judges for the singing competition were Mrs. Helen and Mrs. Sabrina. Mrs. Chrysanthi proposed the ‘Vote of Thanks’.




Children’s Day Celebration

Children’s Day programme began at 11.00 am. On the stage. Our Rector and correspondent Rev. Fr. Stanislaus, Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews were present, the stage was decorated. The programme began with the Prayer by Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam Roslin Bible Reading by Mrs. Chrysanthi. Prayer song by the teachers. Mrs. Anita delivered the welcome Address.

Our Rector and Correspondent presented gifts to the teachers for Punctuality and Regular Attendance for Term-I. Rev. Fr. Stanislaus in his message wished all the children ‘Happy Children’s Day. Father conducted a questioning session for all the classes. Father told the children that God loves little children, children are presious in the sight of God.

Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews Conducted a Quiz for the teachers. Our Principal presented all the teachers with a gift and also congratulated the teachers for their active participation.

Prizes were distributed to the winners of the ‘Speech competition’. ‘On time all the time’ badges were presented to the children for being punctual for Term-I from LKG to STD-V. Our SPL and ASPL proposed the Vote of thanks. The program concluded with the school Anthem.




Thirukural Competition

Thirukkural Competition was conducted on 9th November 2024 at 9.00 a.m. The Programme began with the welcome speech by Mrs. Isabella William.

Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthes, Mrs. Isabella, Mrs. Malathi, Mrs. Juliet and Mrs. Sujatha lit the Kuthuvilakku and inaugurated the competition.

Students of classes LKG to STD-V recited the kurals. Mrs. Sujatha was the judge for the Thirukural competition. Mrs. Ezhilarasi Suresh proposed the vote of thanks.




Diwali Special Assembly (30.10.2024)

The Diwali special assembly commenced at 8.40 am. Our Rector and Correspondent Rev. Fr. Stanislaus, Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Our Headmistress Mr. Ansilam Rolin, teachers, students and parents were present for the program.

The Diwali programme was staged by the students of LKG. The programme began with the prayer by Roshan, Musa. The Bible reading by Pethuru. Action Song (It a great thing to Praise the Lord) by the boys of LKG-B. Kuthuvilakku were lit by our Rector, our Principal, our Headmistress, Mrs. Freany(LKG-A), and Mrs. Asalita (LKG-B).

The acronym for ‘DIWALI’ was presented by the students of LKG-A & LKG-B. The girls of both the sections staged a colourful dance performance. Father wished all the children and parents ‘HAPPY AND A SAFE DIWALI’. The students of LKG-A spoke about the festival ‘Diwali’. The LKG-B students presented Safety Tips. The Diwali celebration concluded with the school Anthem.




Picnic for the Students – Place: Sagayathottam (26.10.2024)

The students from STD-I to STD-V were taken one a day’s excursion to Sagayathottam. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews and 12 teachers accompanied the students and 4 non-teaching staffs.

The students enjoyed themselves in the bus. We reached Sagayathottam around 10.00 am. Rev. Fr. Alphonce greeted all the students and the teachers. We left Sagayathottam around 5:15 pm.

A group Photo was taken will all the students. The students were happy and enjyed themselves. We reached our school around 8:15 pm.

Birthday Celebration (23.10.2024)

Our Administrator Rev. Fr. Vincent the birthday celebrant, Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam Roslin, Teachers and students were present for the Birthday Celebration.

The Program began with Birthday prayer by Shyam Joshua of STD-V. Birthday wish by Fabian of STD-V. Our Headmisstress Mrs. Ansilam wished our Administrator. Our Principal donned the shawl, Our Headmistress presented a bouquet and shyam Joshua of STD-V presented a gift for Rev. Fr. Fr. Vincent the birthday celebrant.

Our school choir sang the birthday song and father cut the cake. The program concluded with the vote of thanks by Mrs. Kanaga.




Open Day & Parents Meeting for Term-II (19.10.2024)

The Parents Meeting began at 9.30 am. Our Rector & Correspondent Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Swamykannu, Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Resource person Rev. Fr. Jerome Cyril, Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam Roslin, Teachers and parents were present. The Program began with the prayer song and the prayer by our Headmistress.

Our Rector welcomed the parents. In his message the situation in India – Current status in 2024. The children count per family in India is only 1.6 % (not even 2 children in a family that is the present society). Parents have no time for their children. Even in the western countries it is the same situation.

Resource person – Rev Fr. Jerome Cyril (REAP WHAT YOU SOW – THE POWER OF PARENTAL INFLUENCE) “Train up a child the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it” Proverbs 22:6.

Father first spoke about the monthly magazine “Arumbu” an article is published about children – “Parenting a child the Don Bosco way”. Children look at their parents and learn. Parents are the first teacher, first book and first experience for their children. Don Bosco asked a child what can he do best – the boy replied that he can whistle. So Don Bosco asked him to whistle. Parents should see what their children are good at.

Teacher’s Day Celebration – 05.09.2024

Teacher's day was celebrated on 5th September in Our School Campus. The teachers day program was organised by the PTA of our school.

The Guest of Honour for the program were Rev. Fr. Tharsius and our Administrator Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam and all the teachers were present for the program.

The program began with the Bible reading followed by the prayer. The prayer dance was staged by the students of STD 1. Our Principal Rev Fr Dominic Matthews delivered the Welcome address.

The students and the parents of STD III conducted a game for the teachers 'Find my Cinderella'. This game was filled with fun and enjoyment.

The welcome dance was staged by the students of STD II.

Our guest of honour Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent in his speech, said that the teachers have to set an example for the students. Rev. Fr. Tharsius in his message wished all Happy Feast of Mother Teresa. He explained to the students how Mother Teresa cleaned the wounds of the poor and helped the needy. Father also thanked and appreciated the teachers for their services. He also thanked the PTA for organising the program.

The students and parents of STD IV conducted a game for the teachers 'You are my Lapidarists'. The teachers were presented a medal and a chocolate.

The teachers cut a cake for teachers day. Rev. Fr. Tharsius presented the teachers with gifts.

Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam proposed the vote of thanks. A grand lunch was arranged for all the teachers.

A special mass was arranged for all the teachers of our school in Our Lourdes Shrine (upper church) at 6.30pm. The main celebrant for the mass was Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent . Father in his sermon spoke about 'Jesus the greatest Teacher'.



Provincial Visitation – 27.08.2024

The special assembly for our Provincial on 27.08.2024 at 8.50 am.

Provincial Rev. Fr. Don Bosco, Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Our Administrator Rev. Fr. Arokia Vincent, Provincial’s Secretary Rev. Fr. Jerry, PTA President – Mr. Bernard, Vice President- Mr. Dion, Secretary -Mrs. Amanda, Tresurer – Mrs. Shailaja, PTA members, Elected members, class Representatives, Teachers and students were present for the special assembly.

The Assembly began with the Prayer followed by Bible Reading. Welcome speech by our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam. Our Principal donned the shawl for Provincial, Our Administrator presented the bouquet. The children staged a welcome dance for the Provincial.

The Provincial, in his message told the children 3 points – God loves you, God Sees you and She did it all. He made the children repeat these three points.

The teachers had a meeting with the Provincial in the Pre-KG class room. Group photos were taken with the Provincial.


55th Annual Sports Meet – 22.08.2024

The Sports Day began at 2.pm. the chief guest was Rev. Fr. Thomas Maria Raj sdb, Principal Don Bosco Higher Secondary School, Moolakadai and the Guest of Honour was Mr. Purushothaman – Asst. Comm. Of Police, Armed Reserve, Egmore.

All the Programmes based on the theme Strenna of the year – The DREAM that makes you DREAM.

The Sports Day began with the Prayer Song by our school choir, our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam welcomed the gathering. The National Flag and the School Flag was hoisted by our chief guest and our Rector. The Opening Ceremony – IL SONYO DI DON BOSCO ALLE NOVA, the dream of Don Bosco at the age of nine. The Opening Ceremony was followed by the March Past and the lighting of the torch. Our Rector and correspondent delivered his message and address the gathering.

Team Games for LKG, UKG , PRE-KG & STD-I were conducted. The track events 50 mts for sub-Juniors and 100 mts of Juniors, Baton Relay for sub-Juniors and Juniors was conducted. After the prize distribution for the team games and track events, our guest of honour delivered his message.

The mass drill – Dream 200 was displayed by the students of STD-II to V. The Parents Game was conducted by our administrator Rev. Fr. Arokia Vincent.

22nd August was the birthday of Rev. Fr. V.V. Abraham we had the birthday celebration on the stage

The prizes for the team games of std-I to V, Track events and parents Game were distributed by our Rector. The Vote of Thanks was proposed by our SPL, ASPL & Mrs. Sabrina. Our Sports day programme concluded by lowering the flag followed by the National Anthem.


Deacon Michael - Visit on 30.08.2024

Deacon Michael Manuel from Australia came to our school for a visit. He was accompanied by our Principal. The Deacon was very impressed with the teachers, students and Fr. Dominic was very supportive. He wished all the staff, our Principal and students ' the very best'.

Addressed the nominees for the PTA elections. All the nominees were asked to be present at 2.00 pm. The nominees had to introduction themselves. After the introduction, the “Election” began. Many parents were present for the elections.

The counting of votes began at 5.30 pm.

Independence Day & Feast of the Assumption Report(15.08.2024)

Independence Day programme was celebrated on Thursday 15 th August at our school premises.

The programme began at 9.15 am. Std-I students staged the Programme for “Independence Day and Feast of the Assumption”.

The Programme began with Prayer Song and Choreography by the students of Std-II, III, IV & V. Prayer for India by Master Issac of Std-I-A. Welcome Speech by SPL & ASPL.

The National Flag was hoisted by our Rector and Correspondent Rev. Fr. Stanislaus. Our SPL recited the pledge and the students were asked to repeat it. The School choir sang the ‘National Anthem’.

As a tribute to Mother Mary the girls of STD-I performed a dance for the song ‘Mama Mary’.

Our Rector Rev. Fr. Stanislaus delivered his message. He asked the students to treat and love all our neighbours as brothers and sisters. Our Rector also wished our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews a Happy Birthday.

Unity in Diversity – A Programme by the boys based on the 4 directions of India. The children spoke about a few states. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews asked the children a few questions based on the programme. Stars were given to the children who gave the correct answers.

Rang Rang Rangeela – A dance on Independence Day by the boys. Mrs. Freany Shafton proposed the Vote of Thanks. Mrs. Ansilam, Mrs. Helen and Mrs. Sabrina sang the School Anthem. Children were given sweets. Photograph were taken out with our Principal.


Principal’s Birthday Celebration Report (15.08.2024)

The Principal’s birthday was celebration on Friday 16th August at our school premises. The Priests present were Rev. Fr. Stanislaus, Rev. Fr. Tharsius, Rev. Fr. Cyril.Bible Reading and Prayer STD-IV. A Poem to our beloved Principal by Our Headmistress.

Felicitation of our Principal: Rev Fr. Stanislaus – don the shawl, Rev. Fr. Tharsius – Presented a gift, Mrs. Ansilam HM – Presented the bouquet. Rev. Fr. Cyril – Presented the gift. Don Bosco “The Hero” a short play by the students of STD-IV & STD-V. Birthday Dance – STD-III, Birthday Wishes – STD-V.

Correspondent’s Message: In his message he asked the students to mention qualities of Our Principal. Many children from STD-I to STD-V went up to the Correspondent to say the qualities of Our Principal.

Acronym – STD-II, Birthday song & Cake Cutting: Our Principal asked to send 5 children from each class on to the stage. Theresa of STD-II celebrates her birthday. She and our Principal cut the cake, the choir sang the birthday song.

Birthday Celebrant’s Message: Our Principal asked the children a few questions about Don Bosco. Where was Don Bosco born?, Which year was Don Bosco born?, Name the mother of Don Bosco?, There were 4 children dressed in different costumes who wished our Principal, Name the 5 persons?. Children who gave the correct answer where presented ‘stars’ by our Principal. Vote of Thanks was given by Mrs. Auxilia Shanthi.

The Programme came to an end – the school choir sang the school anthem. All the students from every class were taken to the stage and photographs were taken along with our Principal. Our Principal gave chocolates for the children.


Commemoration of Don Bosco

On 31 st July 2024 we celebrated the ‘Commemoration of Don Bosco’ in our school by the teachers.

The MC for the programme was Mrs. Sabrina Rodrigues.

Mrs. Ezhilarasi Suresh invoked the blessings of the Almighty by saying the prayer to St. John Bosco.

As a tribute to ‘Our Patron Saint’ the teachers sang a hymn “Raise Your Voices”.

With utmost respect and love for Don Bosco all the captains from the Kindergarten to STD-V and the teachers placed rose petals at the feet of ‘Our Patron Saint’.

Mrs. Ansilam Roslin, Mrs. Anita Lewcock and Mrs. Chrysanthi Miranda Shared a short message on “A dream that makes you dream”.

We concluded the program with DB claps.

Investiture Ceremony

Investiture Ceremony of our school was held on 8 th July 2024 at 9.00 am.Our Rector and Correspondent Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Presided over the celebration. Our new Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, our Administrator Rev. Fr. Vincent, Rev. Fr. Tharsius and Rev. Fr. K.J. Louis were present for the programme. They were welcomed by our DB Band followed by the Prayer song by our DB choir. Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. Stanislaus hoisted the school flag and delivered his address. The students of STD-IV presented a colourful and variety entertainment which consisted of songs and dances. They welcomed our new Principal using acronym. The School Pupil leader, Asst. Pupil leader, house captains and vice captains were badged by our correspondent, Principal and Administrator. Class captains and Vice captains were badged by our Rev. Fr. Tharsius and Rev. Fr. Louis. Class house captains and Vice Captains were badged by the house teachers. Volunteers were badged by our Sports mistress Mrs. Ezhilarasi and the office staff. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews and our former Principal Rev. Fr. Tharsius delivered their messages. Our Sports mistress proposed the vote of thanks. Mrs. Anita Lewcock mastered the ceremony. The Programme concluded with the National Anthem.

Kalvi Valarchi Naal Program

Kalvi Valarchi Naal Program was celebrated on 15 th July 2024 at 2.30 p.m. Picture of Kamaraj was placed on the table and decorated with flowers and 2 lamps were lit. Rev. Fr. Tharsius our Former principal was the chief guests. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews was present. He felicitated our chief guest with a shawl. A short skit on the life of Kamaraj was staged. There was a colourful dance performance . An acronym on the word “Thank You” was staged by our school teachers, as a gratitude to our former Principal Rev. Fr. Tharsius. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews and our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam Roslin said a few words of “Thank You”, followed by chief guest speech and Vote of thanks by Mrs. Kanaga Jagan and last the National Anthem was sung.

Parents Meeting

Parents meeting was commenced on 20 th July 2024 at 10.00 a.m. Vice Rector Rev. Fr. Tharsius, our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews, Administrator Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent were present.

The programme began with the ‘Prayer song’. Our Headmistress Mrs. Ansilam Roslin delivered the Welcome address. Our Principal Rev. Fr. Dominic Matthews welcomed the priests and the parents. The resource person Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent was felicitated by our Principal. Our Principal donned the shawl for the Vice-Rector and the Administrator. The Vice- Rector Rev. Fr. Tharsius welcomed the parents. He spoke about “Parenting” in short. Later the resource person for the day Rev. Fr. Arokiya Vincent addressed the parents. He spoke about 5 main points regarding “Parenting”.

2. Don’t force them

3. spend time with them.

4. Be careful of your words and actions in front of them, especially your actions.

5. Teach them to respect all living things, people, birds, animals and nature as well.

Father advised the parents to correct their children when they needed to be corrected. He also spoke to the parents about the children’s screen time, insinuating that to much of the same would result in both psychological and physiological complications. The parents were very happy and understood the damage mobiles could cause to their children.

Our Principal spoke to the parents about few other points which was translated by our Headmistress.
